I found these theeth at Myrtle Beach and I haven't been able to find what shark they came from. They are about an inch long, but they're broken and i don't know how long they are when they're full. They are shaped like a saw with smaller teeth coming off on both sides of the spear-like centre shaft.
I found possibly rare shark teeth, what did they come from?
I don't know where Myrtle Beach is, but it sounds like what you've found is the saw part of a Sawfish. Here's a pic. of one.
http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/education/...
I didn't give all the thumbs down, btw! They were there when I arrived.
Reply:This is actually a penis bone from a deep-sea cochlid.
Reply:take it to your local museum or contact the smithsonian (sorry dont know if i spelt that right) in DC they usually can tell a lot more then just googling can :)
Reply:I would take them to a local aquarium. I'm sure someone there would know right away what they were
Reply:post a picture. That way somebody can see what it looks like.
Reply:Well, it could be from some kind of fish too. Remember there are things out there other than sharks that have teeth. I wouldn't know though, maybe if you included a picture with it....Do some research on what type of sharks are most common in that area, and other species of fish with teeth.
Reply:Shark teeth are frequently found along beaches and some are as long as your hand. Myrthle Beach is a common hunting ground for fossil shark teeth. This may be what you found, if it seems to be made of rock.
Reply:just search "shark teeth photos". you should be able to find your answer that way
Reply:Post a picture but believe it or not, finding shark teeth is not that unusual and they are probably far from rare. I have found several on beaches over the years.

I have cracked my front teeth, what should I do?
I have slightly cracked my front teeth, central incisors, but the cracks are not visible untill I shed light on therm with flashlight! and the crack is from the gumline half way to the bottem, but as I said not visible or sharp and nothiing is broken. what should I do?
I have cracked my front teeth, what should I do?
KEVIN,
THESE ARE CALLED CRAZE LINES. THEY ARE MICROSCOPIC FRACTURES IN THE ENAMEL ON THE FRONT PART OF THE TOOTH. THEY ARE SO THIN THAT THEY CAN ONLY BE SEEN BY SHINING A STRONG LIGHT ON THEM AT A CERTAIN ANGLE.
I'VE HAD MINE FOR YEARS W/O ANY PROBLEMS. ONLY I KNOW ABOUT THEM.
WHAT DO I PLAN TO DO? NOTHING!
Reply:see a dentist, they can give you crowns
Reply:Try some clear see-through crazy glue or that paste that is white in color.
Reply:See your dentist for the best care/advice. If they can't help you, they'll refer you to someone who can.
Reply:get rid of the torch n no one will notice
Reply:See a dentist as soon as possible to find out if they will turn grey from nerve damage. I bit a fork about 15 years ago eating waffles in a hurry and thought I had broken one of my bottom incisors - it popped forward out of line. "Fortunately", I had broken the supporting bone in front and not the tooth. My dentist put cement in the back of my bottom front teeth for about 4 weeks and the bone grew back; the tooth would not, of course, heal itself. It's fine now. Good Luck!
Reply:maybe see a dentist just to be on the safe side
Reply:See your dentist. You will probably need crowns. The cracks will allow bacteria into the tooth causing decay. Eventually, it will reach a nerve and then you'll be in trouble. It will hurt like nothing else. And you'll need a root canal.
Reply:#1 Get a dental plan (below) if you don't have one already.
Choose one with no waiting periods.
#2 Visit a dentist ASAP.
Reply:This sounds exactly like my central incisor that I cracked on a swimming pool in about 1960. Don't worry about it. Mine never needed any treatment and yours probably doesn't either.

What causes the teeth on my HD starter to break?
On mine it was because I have a big inch motor. On some it can be because the pinion gear does not engage the gear on the clutch basket well.
This can be caused by the spring behind the pinion gear being weak or by worn teeth.
Compufire makes a starter gear set, with a slightly different ratio, with both the basket and pinion gears that works great ,the basket gear is installed on your clutch basket rather than replacing the whole shell.
I ate up a few sets of stock gears before, but the compufire has held up for years.
J+P has that gear set and replace the spring behind the pinion.
What causes the teeth on my HD starter to break?
Are you talking about the teeth on the starter drive gear? Could be the gear was not hardened properly. Has this happened more than once? If not just replace the gear and it should work fine. Also, check the teeth on the gear ring that the drive gear engages. They may be screwed up also.
Reply:Try using shims. The gears are probably bottoming out.
Reply:is it the teeth on the gear that engage's the ring gear on the clutch basket or the little teeth on the shaft that gos back into the starter like on a high torque gear reduction starter?
you need to shim to get full engagement without the 1 way sprague touching the ring gear. on an early model with the solenoid facing forward you may have a bent yoke.
if you've got a 100'' with high compression you need compression release's. if not move the starter drive by hand (disconnect the battery wire first)to see how much engagement you are getting %26amp; shim accordingly before you put the primary cover back on. %26amp; dont forget to check the teeth on your ring gear, you may need a new one.

Always dream about my teeth and jaw?
i always dream that my teeth are either loose or falling out and at the same time my jaw goes all weird, it feels like it is broken or dislocated, during these dream i am in terrible pain, but the pain doesn't wake me up. Sometimes i go for weeks without having these dreams then when i do have them they happen every night for about four days I don't think anybody is supposed to be in pain while they are dreaming. It gets so bad that i sometimes dread going to sleep, please help. Thx
Always dream about my teeth and jaw?
It may be your body trying to tell you something.I had something similar myself and this was down to me grinding my teeth when I slept. The dentist began noticing the effects on my teeth before I realised what I was doing and said it could have been brought on by stress (I later found out it was exaggerated if I had been drinking). The dentist gave me a mouth guard to use at night. Try and find out if this is the problem before it has any conseqeunces because it can really do damage to teeth and gums.
Reply:I have a horrible recurring dream that is so realistic about all my teeth falling out. It feels so real, every time I have it I think to myself while I'm dreaming "Oh, no, it's for real this time!" So I looked it up in a dream book and it says teeth dreams are manifestations of stress and/or could be from grinding your teeth while sleeping. I've been trying to deal with my stress levels and the dream hasn't happened for a couple months!
Reply:Its funny because I learned in my class that these are common dreams for EVERYONE. This particular drem plays on insecurities...whatever they may be. I too have these dreams. The best way to address it is to deal better with your major insecurities.
Reply:Hi there,
The two people who have already answered before me are correct in saying this may have something to do with a physical problem you have. Id suggest you speak to your dentist reguarding the pain and see what he/she says to this.
If in your actual dreaming state you dream of your jaw feeling tight and inpain (this isnt a physical pain but a dream pain) this indicates that you have unexpressed angers and other powerful feelings which you are holding back. Either from yourself or from others. Also if you see your mouth in your dream (not just your teeth) this signifies your need to express yourself or talk about an issue that's bothering you.
Teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in giving this image. If you occassionally worry about your looks and how others see you this dream would highly suit you, and for this very reason. Theres also the point that you maybe feeling embarrassed or have the fear of making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. In this case your teeth dreams are to do with your worries and anxiety.
As you have mentioned that you've had these dreams before these dreams (including the pain) are classed as reoccurring dreams. Most dreams contain messages for us and by dreaming its our unconsious mind trying to show and teach us something about ourselves. With recurring dreams, the message may be so important and/or powerful that it just will not go away. The frequent repetition of such dreams forces you to pay attention and confront the dream. The dream is trying desperately to tell you something. Such dreams are often nightmarish or frightening in their content, which also helps you to take notice and pay attention to them. Which can also leave you waking up in a sweat, feeling afraid and also in pain in certain areas.
Reply:Maybbe you grind your teeth while your asleep. I did that while i was asleep. It reallly cann hurt. Ask your docter.

Reply:Dreaming about teeth falling out is generally a sign of stress. I often dream my teeth are falling out when I am stressed out. When you are feeling tense, try writing down everything that is winding you up before you go to sleep.I may relieve the feelings enough to get a decent nights sleep.
Good Luck.

Broken Zipper HELP!!!!!!!?
On my pauls boutique bag it has a metal teeth zipper. it is quite thick but it doesnt actually close when you move it along, it just goes through and stays open. i think it might be not tight enough or something cos it only works for the first centimetre of it so i think it is not properly broken. it is all together but not working HELP!!! X
Broken Zipper HELP!!!!!!!?
This is hard to tell without actually seeing it but it sounds as though it should be replaced. Do you mean that you close it and it opens while you zip it? If so, it needs replacing. Take it to a repair shop or a seamstress. They'll be able to tell you exactly what is wrong. As far as I know, there is no way to fix it.
If it is new, I'd take it back to the store. You might also try writing the manufacturer--it could be the batch of zippers they bought are all defective and might even be subject to a recall.
Reply:a lot of people will put wax on it, my parent use to put candle wax on it. they rub the candle over it and it seen to work!
Reply:you can go to the alteration and let them fix it for you :/

I got my wisdom teeth removed......?
i just got my wisdom teeth removed about 4 hours ago and it hurts like hell! my face has swelled up to the size of like a watermelon.it feels like my jaw is broken and i cant even speak a word. how long till the swelling goes away? how long until it heals? how long until the pain goes away? should i call my dentist if it still hurts tomorrow? i really want to eat but i cant even close or open my mouth. i cant drink anything without it coming out of my mouth. what do i do?
I got my wisdom teeth removed......?
Relax. Just take those pain meds they gave you. And try to sleep. Best thing for the first day. Mine were not that deep so I was good to go the next day. I went to work 2 days after they took them out. Felt great...looked like a chipmunk though. lol. You will not be able to open you mouth all the way for a week! Just keep opening it as much as you can a couple times a day....when the pain stops that is. ICE use ice...it will bring down the swelling and helps the pain to go away in that area. Just make sure that you change the stuff they put in your mouth and don't spit; it will open the cuts and the bleeding will start again. Speaking of which, don't drink the blood and the yellow stuff. It will make you sick. But all that sounds like how I felt after four hours. Not a fun time, but it will pass. Good luck.
Reply:Eat cold stufff
Reply:Take the pain pills they should have given you and you should be fine by Monday morning. You may still have a dull ache then but you will be fine by Monday.
Reply:Did they give you any drugs for pain? If not, call them right now and get something that will pretty much just make you want to sleep for a couple days-- being unconscious is much better than being miserable.
Reply:For now use pain killers and it should be better by tomorrow
Reply:you should take a pain killer and try to go to sleep thats what i did when I got four teeth pulled i know it isn't the same but my friend got hers removed and she did the same thing but it hurt her for alomost 2 weeks.
Reply:you will feel it for a few days. Whatever you do don't drink out of a straw...you can dislodge the clots and form dry sockets...if you think you are in pain now a dry socket will be the end of you
Reply:you did not say if you had stitches or not. you should have mild to moderate pain after extractions and the dds should have given you pain meds. cold drinks and soft foods like icecream, yogurt, eggs, soup...not hot!!!!! if you have no stitches anything hot could dislove the blood clot, also no smoking or drinking through a straw, no persing your lips. the clot forms on the top of the site and needs to heal. you will be fine. rest and all the cold drinks will help you. good luck to you
Reply:You should call your dentist did they give you any discharge instructions? Did they give you anything for pain? I know when my sister-in laws jaw was broken she use to get baby food (fruit) and drink it through a straw, but that would probably hurt you too. Hope you feel better but you need to call the dentist
Reply:1] take a pain killer every 8 hours for the next two days. If the doc didn't give you one, call him and take a motrin while you are waiting.Tell him how big your face is - like, cheeks wider than
your forehead?
2] wrap some frozen veggies on a ziploc bag, cover with a paper towel, and ice your face! 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, for the next two days.
3] Don't use a straw! Use a teaspoon to eat tiny amounts of liquids or soft solids - ice cream, pudding, mashed potatoes,
pureed veg or meat [ nothing with chunks ].
P.S. my face did the same thing - I couldn't even get a shirt over my head, and looked like I had been in a terrible car accident. I lost ten pounds in two weeks.

I just got a call from his ex this weekend that he tells me hes been tryin to get rid of her every now n then. She said if i think I'm his only gf im wrong becuase he's been dating her all this time as well. I was so heart broken but somehow i still sort of trust that my bf n it's some evil plan of hers to try to break us apart. She tells me he's mentally ill for bringing us both out as girlfriends to all his family, friends, coworkers and how can these ppl not say anything n what they must think of us. I wonder can everyone around him really be that nuts and not think anything of it? I don't know I'm still hurt and confused although my bf said give him time because this is good, he can finally get rid of her after doing this.

I would not have anything to do with either of them, sounds like a real soap opera. Leave that for TV, run the other way and do not look back.
