How many wisdom teeth do you have? And has this happened to you ?

about 4 or 5 years ago my dentist pulled out my wisdome teeth and according to my x-rays I only had 2 wisdom teeth. In the last month or 2 I now have a new one that has broken the skin. Is this normal to get them pulled and then get more or what?

Not sure but i think you can have as many as 4. I went from no problems to having one break the skin. My dentist pulled it and no more problems.
Reply:I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken at the same time. You get 2 at the bottom (one on each side) and the same at the top. I have never heard of a wisdom tooth growing back in the same place it was pulled.

My left bottom wisdom tooth was coming in wrong and was pushing my bottom teeth and causing the right one on the bottom to to hurt too. My top wisdom teeth weren't coming in. So I got the bottom 2 pulled and the top ones cut out. I'm good now... that was about 3 years ago.

GOOD LUCK.
Reply:I only had 3 and had them all out. If there was only 2 a few years ago there shouldn't be a new one now. It could be that a regular tooth was being kept in the gum by a crooked wisdom tooth and now it has come in.

I would ask the dentist to see the old x-rays to find out what it really is.
Reply:People can have 2-4 wisdom teeth. Are they growing in the same place as the ones you've had pulled?
Reply:You have four wisdom teeth altogether. A friend of mine had all of his taken out, and a couple years later more started coming up, but I think that's quite rare. And if this is happening to you, get a hold of your dentist and ask him/her about your concern, because they probably know more about the subject of teeth than I do. :)

Good luck with everything
