Is it rare for a 10 month old baby not to have cut her teeth yet?

My 10 month old granddaughter has had the symptoms of cutting teeth for 4 months now, but they havent broken thru, is this rare? reason for concern?

My daughter didn't get her first teeth until she was about that age - so it's normal - just a slow teethier...
Reply:It might be out of the norm but no reason for concern, both of my daughters only had their bottom teeth and half of the top at 1. My dentist told me the longer they are in the more enamel builds so they should have strong teeth.

Fair warning though once they started they got around 8 at a time!!
Reply:No it is perfectly normal. I think it can range anywhere from about 4 months to 13 months she is fine.
Reply:I don't know if it is really common but my son didn't get his until he was about 1 yr old. My daughters got them early but not my son. I don't think it is anything for you to worry about.
Reply:My son cut teeth at 6 months and my nephew didn't have any teeth until he was 15 months. It is no reason to be concerned. My sister in laws doc told her it just gives her less of a reason to worry about tooth decay. His teeth are not exposed as long. Still "brush" his gums so you can get him used to doing it and keep his mouth healthy.
Reply:I dont know if it is normal or not. My boys cut teeth at 4 months.
Reply:It is normal. Some babies just take longer to have their first teeth break through. My son drooled for 3-6 months before his finally came out at 8 mos. At that time he got six and he is turning a year this week and hasn't had any more. They'll come soon enough.
Reply:My son who is 2 now never cut a tooth until he was a year old. I asked my Doctor and public health nurse they said every child is different... well my son cut his 2 yr molars before his front teeth.. his came in backwards.. you can try freezing a carrot or something like that and give it to her to chew on..if her gums are bumpy and reddish her teeth are on the way..
Reply:All kids are different. One of my friends had her kid cut them at 4 months. I was jealous until I found out how sharp they were. Being a breast feeding mom I was relieved. My daughter cut her first tooth at 7 months old. A boy in her day care just turned 1 year old and didn't cut his first tooth until last month.

Lucky for us all kids are different. Some will develop certain things early, some late. My daughter is 11 months old and I would have bet money that she would have walked by 9 months since she was standing and holding on to things at 6 months. She has yet to take more than 3 steps.

She will get her teeth, and probably a few at a time. Just feel glad that she hasn't bitten you yet. =)
Reply:My oldest did not get teeth until he was 14 months old. The later they get their baby teeth, typically the later they get their adult teeth, which is a good thing. Teething is not a sign of slow development. nothing to worry about. My second got teeth at 4 months.
Reply:My daughter was exactly the same way. She showed sighns of her teeth coming through for several months but they never appeared. I don't think they came through she 10-11 months old. No reason to be concerned....every child is different.
