How safe are veneers? How long do they last ? I need to straighten my two front teeth but don't want braces.

I need to fix a bottom tooth as well. Half of it broke off when I was younger. It has a temp cap on it. I want to straighten my teeth, soon, as I am in dental assisting school. And how much money are they? I am in Canada. I think I will need 8 teeth done or so. Maybe not that many, but possibly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TY :)

talk to a dentist. there are so many options for changing the appearance of teeth without braces or veneers. they can change the shape and colour with many different materials. get 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions if need be but find someone you are comfortable with and trust.
Reply:what about those clear braces???? you only wear them at night or something like that and you cant notice them unless you really look for them.... and i think they are cheaper than braces... but i would say look in to that...
Reply:I worked at MACVeneers for a long time, veneers are great and are actually stronger than your regular teeth. The process is pretty much painless, except you spend a few hours in a chair getting them on.

Veneers last 20+ years, they say 20 because they have only been in use for about that long. If you take care of your teeth though they will last alot longer.

They don't stain, and they look great! If you are going to get them done, make sure you are going to a "cosmetic" dentist for the procedure, it is very important to get someone who knows what they are doing. Look for a dentist who is an LVI graduate.

Also, if you are getting them done you probably want to get your top 6 teeth done at least. Because veneers don't stain they might start to look funny next to your other teeth. Your dentist will go over all of that with you.

Veneers really change peoples lives, so if you are interested don't hesitate to at least have a consultation.
