My teeth are still shifting & headaches (Help, No Insurance & Broke!)?

I am 28 yrs old and had braces as a child. Since I didn't have a retainer my teeth have slowly shifted over the years and are crooked again. Over the past 2 days, I can FEEL my teeth shifting and it is giving me headaches. My boyfriend even confirmed that he can see the difference in my teeth where they have shifted. Not only is this causing discomfort, but it's making me self-conscious. I don't know what to do - no health insurance, and defintely no money to pay for dentist or othodontist. Any suggestions?

I am currently a Dental Hygienist, we see this stuff all the time. A cheap fix to the current shifting you may want to try, is a simple sports guard. A simple mouth guard while you sleep is going to stop you from grinding and clinching your teeth while you sleep. You may say that you don't going or clinch your teeth in your sleep but studies show, everybody grinds and chinches in stage 4 sleep. The grinding will cause your teet to shift into a different bite. You can pick one up at Ballard's Sporting Goods or any Sporting Goods store, now the sports guards can range from $2.00 to $25.00 depending on the quality. You want to make sure it is the right size for your mouth, otherwise you will wake up and find it on the floor or something and it wont be effective. You can also heat it up under hot tap water, so it fits your teeth better. If you find that this will work you can buy one that is custom made for you from any dentist, its called an occlusal guard, they have to take impressions then you have to wait about 2 weeks to get one, and they are only about $200.00 and they will last about 15 years if taken care of. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Reply:no, al i know is if you are that broke then you could be on job seekers or income support they get dentistry for free,

if you work then, you can get a HC1 form from either the denticts are chemist, fill it out then they owuld be able to tell you if you are eligable for a discount in your health costs
Reply:If there is a dental school near you, call and tell them your problem. They may be able to help. Good luck to you.
