Pros & cons of using superglue on a broke tooth - temp?

I'm not due to see my local dentist until Sept and have broken/chipped a tooth. The loose part is still connected. What if I use a touch of superglue as a temp measure.

Pros %26amp; cons of using superglue on a broke tooth - temp?
If it is a natural tooth you cannot use superglue on natural teeth. However, believe it or not on my temporary prosthesis for my implants a tooth popped off. My doctor actually told me to superglue it back on, or find a dentist to attach it back. I did and the dentist who attached it back on actually used artificial acrylic fingernail adhesive.

Did you also know that a friend of mine recently took her son to her doctor. The bottom of his foot was cut by glass and a bandaid wouldn't stick. Her doctor told her to use superglue and that he was serious. Then I heard that factories around here when you cut yourself will superglue the cut shut. Not the medical adhesive you can buy in the store but just regular old superglue.

Do not use this on natural teeth.
Reply:DONT do it!! Phone your dentsist and get an emergency appointment
Reply:Pros are it seems an easy quick temporary solution. Cons are I have no idea what superglue is made from and it could be full of carcinogens and other harmful substances.
Reply:OMG NO! They can't put the chipped part back in anyway.. it's garbage now. If you can, take the chipped part out and go to the drugstore... they have temp filling material you can pack in there to keep food out. But get in a.s.a.p before it starts to throb.
Reply:Your dentist should be able to work you in for an emergency appointment. DO NOT use superglue, it is not meant to be ingested.
Reply:Bad idea and I know cause I did it. It will start to hurt like hell - something in the glue I guess. Dentist told me next time use one of those denture glues.
Reply:Nooooooooo dont
Reply:DONT DO IT!!!!!!
Reply:Super glue has got some really nasty gunk in it.

(Read the label, you'll be shocked)

I didn't.

When I put it on, some superglue oozed out from the tooth, and instantly stuck my cheek to my tooth.

The ensuing frantic attempt to free my cheek only succeeded in my finger becoming instantly stuck to the aforementioned body-parts.

Snatching up my mobile phone, I got halfway through dialling up emergency when I realised just how drippy and hard to handle superglue really is.

Now I got another finger stuck to the keypad, and the cellphone is attached to my ear.

I'd yell, but my lips have hermetically sealed over my super glued tooth/cheek finger, and a beer bottle I was holding at the time.

At least I almost managed to hide my Debbie does Dallas tape before the ambo's arrived......nearly, but afterwards, they finally managed to prise it off my forehead....finally.

No,.....you go ahead and stick it up ,......you'll have fun.
Reply:You are Kidding!

A dentist won't be able to glue it on anyway and you will make extra work which will end up costing you more!

Just make an appointment and get to the dentist sooner!
