Is it normal for a baby's teeth to barely break through the gums but then not erupt further even months later?

my 10 month old has two teeth (one top, one bottom) that barely poked out of his gums about 2 months ago but they have not grown in at all. you can see just a tiny white spot where they came up (doctor confirmed they are teeth), but they haven't budged in the past two months. is that normal? he has a cousin two months younger whose teeth popped out the same time but are fully grown in now ...

it definitely is possible. teeth are funny things...my 21 month old daughter just finally moved beyond having only 2 teeth. they come at their own pace and i would say not to worry until there are other teeth that have come in around them. at that point i'd say there was an issue. :-)
Reply:i'm sure that it's ok...teeth move slowly....but just to ease ur curiosity check with ur childs dentist and ask him/her next appointment
