When I fight how can I keep my teeth safe?

So, I don't want to be scared of anymore dental damage if I may ever need to stick up for myself. It is not solely the fear from the experience of my front tooth being broke in half that makes me ask this question. I see it happen to many other people. And it is not realistic to carry around a mouthguard at all times. Could you recommend an absolute mouth guarding strategy??

a mouthpiece like boxers wear
Reply:Well, it's always important to keep your teeth/ face safe. And you're right, it's not practical to carry around a mouth guard and pop it in whenever you might get into a fight. Also, getting hit in the face makes your eyes water, and makes it harder to see during a fight.

So the trick is to keep from getting hit in the face. Always keep your hands up during a fight. Also, dodging techniques in Boxing helps a lot! And distance covering and side stepping to dodge face hits. People have a tendency to go straight at a person even when they have plenty of space to side step.

If you want to go a different route though, dental braces help protect your teeth during a fight. I don't know how practical that is, but it's an option. We can always use straighter teeth.
Reply:If you fight you take the consequences. If you don't , well no worry. There is no sure thing on the streets if you fight.
Reply:Keep you hands up and when punching and make sure you retract them and keep them up also-many people don't and tend to drop them some as they bring their punches back. Also tucking your chin behind your shoulder and arm as you punch will protect the side of you mouth from hard shots.
Reply:There isn't one!

There are absolutely no guarantees and no guarnteed strategies for always doing anything in a physical defense situation.

Your best bet is to find a quality instructor, being training regularly and practicing dilligently, and learn as much as you possibly can about physical self-defense. Knowledge, expereince, and practice will provide you with the best likely outcome with regard to keeping your teeth, and the rest of yourself alive and in one piece in a physical confrontation. Otherwise, there is no miracle guarantee or strategy I'm afraid other than avoiding physical confrontation all together.

Good luck

Reply:The best would be not to fight. Thats not always possible though, so try to guard your face.
Reply:It's called keeping your hands up. Other than that, without a mouth guard, nope.
Reply:First, don't get into a fight.

If you do, without a choice, tuck your chin on your shoulders and keep your hands up. Also, bite and keep your teeth clench together when you fight close range.

Reality check: you worrying about your teeth while you are a fight? Please get your priority straight.
