Wisdom teeth?
You would know if you had a tooth that broke, the toothe would be in and chipped and you would feel it. If it is popping through the gum, it is most likely those W teeth coming in. It is very normal to have soreness there as well as they come in. Most of the time, a dentist will do 3 things once they begin to come in. They will take X rays and deduce the following:

1. A dentist desperate for your $$ will scare you and say you MUST have them out right away or else, even if you don't need them out right away

2. A dentist will tell you that they will become more and more impacted and as they come in, and your other teeth will begin to push against each other and that you should have them out within ___ period of months

3. A dentist will tell you that you are NOT in danger of immediate impacting, that he will make an assessment about how and when to pull if necessary down the road when they are all the way in.

Case in point what happened to me: mine started to come in like yours, with soreness and seemingly even lying on their side! I went to see a dentist who said YOU MUST have these out now and only an oral surgeon can do this because the nerve was too close to the tooth at the time. (which would mean I would have to go under!) Well dentists scare me and I said screw it, they aren't that painful, its not infected, and NOT impacted. So I waited a few years and they all started to come in straight and beautiful! By the time I was 26, all 4 were in nicely and healthy %26amp; I had seen 3 dentists, 2 of the 3 of them didn't even KNOW the teeth I had were wisdom because they came in on their own so straight! Dentists to this day tell me that I was very lucky and smart that I did not listen to the original dentist that tried to scare me into going to the oral surgeon, as that would have been costly and traumatic for nothing! I am also the rare case, I take exceptional care of my teeth and floss like mad too. My current dentist says that I should be able to keep my wisdoms forever as long as I clean them well.

Lesson, you were smart to come onto answers and do research regarding your own body before going out there and trusting these racqeteering DDS's! You should still get those X rays, but before you have them yanked, get a 2nd and 3rd opinion from a doc you trust first...
Reply:GO TO THE DENTIST RIGHT AWAY
Reply:do you visit the dentist every 6 mos? if not, schedule an appointment.
Reply:We can't see your teeth here. Only your dentist can tell.
Reply:you sould see a dentist. Theyll take x-rays and determine if you need them out.
Reply:It might be just a skin that has loosen in the process when the teeth was growing and it usually hurts. It might take a few years for the teeth to harden before pulling it out.
Reply:sounds like you need a root canal, but save 600$ and yank it
